Hello, my name is Jon Hertz and I'm the owner and sole photographer at Jon Hertz Travel Photography.


I enjoy combining my two favorite passions; photography and international travel, exploring places many only dream of visiting.


My photography is about people, adventure, time and place, light, and perspective. Through my photography I hope viewers become more appreciative and tolerant of the perspectives and beliefs of people and cultures quite different from their own.  I have discovered that people's beliefs and realities are based upon their individual perspectives;  just as the water's color depends  on the angle from which you view the pond.

I embark upon my adventures realizing I am not about to take a trip, rather that the trip is about to take me. With an open mind I find that adventures often occur when least expected.  I seek new and different ways to explore our magnificent world hoping to create narratives through my photography.  I seek to strike a balance between taking quality photographs and participating in the moment. I am always seeking to capture outstanding photographs while absorbing the magical experience of the time and place.

My Mission

I often visit places with cultures very different from my own attempting to better understand the lives of people who experience the world through very different perspectives. These journeys have changed my life in such positive ways that I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams and experience the wonderful world we have been gifted.

Please realize the photographs in this website have been taken over my last 55 years of travel, utilizing the best technologies of the time.  Some of the older photographs in this collection lack the clarity, sharpness, and resolution that are commonplace in photographs taken with the incredible cameras of today.  Although they may not meet the qualities and standards of today's photography, I include them here providing an historical record.

    I was fortunate when my parents sent me to Europe after my high school graduation sparking my interest in international travel.  I have been traveling ever since. 


    I focus on shooting high-quality, photographic images of different people and cultures around the world. My goal is to highlight the beauty of the different people and cultures I have visited worldwide. 


    With over 55 years of travel photography experience and a keen eye for unique beauty, I seek to share my experiences through beautiful, timeless photographs.

    I am the owner and sole photographer of Jon Hertz Travel Photography. I combine two of my favorite passions; photography and international travel, exploring and photgraphing places many only dream of visiting. Photography and International travel are my hobbies as I have never taken photographs with the intention to sell them. However, I do seek for others to view and appreciate the wonders I have experienced through travel.
